I joined Colorado Mountain College in Leadville, CO in 2019. I am the Ecosystem Science & Stewardship B.S. program chair and teach courses like General Biology, Genetics, Ecology, Plant & Vegetation Ecology, Soil Ecosystem Ecology, ant many more. So much fun!
My broad research interests revolve around biogeographical patterns of genetic and ecological variation in organisms. In my dissertation projects, I used an interdisciplinary approach integrating genomics, ecology, GIS, and statistical models to investigate species of spruce across their western North American range. My main goal was to characterize factors that contribute to the maintenance and distribution of divergent species in this genus.
